#METOO CHARTS NEW TERRITORY AS HARVEY WEINSTEIN FACES CRIMINAL

Fair questions in the room are those that will inform your characters’ relationships with the other characters in your scene or the character’s environment. Usually, stage directions will give you strong clues about where you are,
what time of day it is, and from where you just came. Remember to look for these clues to inform your choices.
WHEN TO SAY NO: NAVIGATING POLITICS, ETHICS
AND ARTISTRY
Actors, and especially those that are new to the industry or lack connections, are often counseled to say yes to everything. The more projects you take on, the more you learn, the more exposure you get, and the more you exercise your acting muscles, right? Often that is the case. But in acting, as in any career, there is a time to say
“no.”
One of the biggest issues actors face when moving to Los Angeles is how to hit the ground running. At first glance, you might think the focus has to be on yourself. But if you're looking to succeed, create an impact, and be fulfilled you’ll need to give, express, and
expand.

June 7 –

The UCLA Film & Television Archive in Southern California is a world leader in the preservation of motion picture heritage. The Archive’s important work is showcased in its biennial UCLA Festival of Preservation, featuring glorious new 35mm restorations of important classics, nearly-lost masterworks,
neglected treasures, and rediscovered rarities spanning more than a century of film history in the United States and elsewhere.
At the CRS we cast brand new scripts on the spot and watch them fly in front of a live audience. Local musicians are also invited to share
their work-in-progress in the “unplugged” musical segment of the evening. Every live reading ends with a party in the Lounge where you can meet up with other artists over a cold beer. The CRS is the place for Vancouver’s artists to meet one another, share their work, and create more.
