DOXA DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL
May 3-13
In an era of “fake news” and global uncertainty, the 2018 DOXA Documentary Film Festival comes to the rescue with a program of 93 films (shorts and features) that offer radical and transformative ideas through music, art, and the power of people working together to create and share solutions.
Hundreds of youth are involved in what has grown to be Vancouver’s largest youth-driven arts festival. The festival includes showcases in music, dance, and spoken word, the world premiere of three one-act plays, a visual arts exhibit, variety shows featuring improv, drag, circus arts, and much more. All of this is created by local artists between the ages of
13-24.
Upintheair’s rEvolver Theatre Festival will present 12 days of new interdisciplinary live theatre works by emerging to early mid career Canadian artists. Highlights include a focus on women
creators; a concerted reflection of today’s cultural and political climate; four world premieres; and works that play with preconceived notions of contemporary theatre practice.
