VANCOUVER NAMED SECOND BEST NORTH AMERICAN CITY FOR FILMMAKERS
Vancouver’s neo-Hollywood reputation is well-earned, with its blossoming infrastructure of 2.5 million square feet of stage space on over 100 stages, the world’s largest VFX/animation cluster, 17 educational institutions with motion picture production as a discipline, and 3,000 graduates per year entering media from B.C.’s post-secondary programs, as well as abundant woodsy-green shooting locations (see: any X-Men film).
FACEBOOK’S FIRST SCRIPTED TV SERIES 'SACRED LIES' TO FILM IN VANCOUVER
Facebook’s first foray into scripted television content will be a multi-genre horror series called “Sacred Lies,” and the series is set to begin filming in Vancouver this March. 10 episodes of the half-hour show have been ordered.

steps to protect its own against sexual harassment. A new code of conduct, specifically for teachers of the Union of BC Performers (UBCP) and Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), has been implemented.

The popular series Chesapeake Shores has been given the green light for another season, making it the longest-running television series shot on Vancouver Island. And no one is happier than Joan Miller, who runs Vancouver Island North Film Commission. The renewal will mean jobs for hundreds of people and over $10 million to the local
