OSCARS 2017: THE WINNERS LIST
The 89th Academy Awards are being unveiled on an
overcast Sunday in Los Angeles. Moonlight breakout Mahershala Ali and Fences star Viola Davis picked up early supporting honors. Meanwhile, Iran's Asghar Farhadi took home the win for best foreign-language film for The Salesman.

HOLLYWOOD NORTH: LIAM NEESON SEEKING SOME REVENGE IN B.C., ALBERTA

remake of the 2014 Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance, begins shooting in B.C. on March 20 with Neeson indeed starring as a beloved snowplow driver in a Colorado town who seeks revenge against the drug dealers who killed his son.
Reading his cousin's Archie comics years ago, it would be hard for a young Cody Kearsley to imagine he would be bringing one of those roles to life on TV. The Oliver/Penticton actor is taking on one of pop culture's most iconic roles in the new series Riverdale playing Moose Mason.

informed, experienced critics, the standard of discussion goes down, consumers and funding bodies look in vain for reliable opinions, and artists are denied the benefits of publicity and candor.
The Victoria theatre company owed $160,000 to 68 unsecured creditors. On Thursday, it announced 97 per cent of the creditors had voted in favour of a proposal that will see most receive 25 cents on the dollar. That debt is to be paid off over three years.
Oscars season is all about the stars: who said what, which gowns rocked the red carpet, and of course, who won. But for women behind the camera, it takes a lot more to get noticed.
I'M AN ARAB ACTOR WHO'S BEEN ASKED TO AUDITION FOR THE ROLE OF TERRORIST MORE THAN 30 TIMES.
My first film job at the age of 14 – Steven Spielberg’s Munich – featured me as an Islamic
terrorist’s son. When I complained about racial profiling to a director, I was told that I was lucky I could 'use my ethnicity as a playing card' in an industry where 'white actors are overlooked'.
“I am looking for someone who just thrills me. Who is just…I cannot take my eyes off them because they are so deeply involved in what they do. It just has to be filled with honesty, and humanity and a wish to be heard.”
THE SURPRISING STORY OF MERLE OBERON, THE ONLY INDIAN ACTRESS TO BE NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR
While inclusion remains a massive issue for the film and TV industries, it's growing increasingly hopeful that she'll be joined in the record books by another Indian actress (Quantico's Priyanka Chopra, perhaps?) very soon.
THE SECRET TO OVERCOMING JEALOUSY & COMPETITION IN
ACTING
This idea of embracing your unique self can change your entire perspective on competition, and alleviate the sense of rivalry or envy amongst colleagues. If truly embraced, it can go so far as to completely upend the common belief that perceived “imperfections” need to be traded in for a standard of what’s considered conventional and uniform.
