KEVAN FUNK'S HELLO DESTROYER LEADS VANCOUVER FILM CRITICS CIRCLE AWARDS FOR CANADIAN FILMS
The VFCC named the film the best Canadian film of 2016, and also named Funk the best Canadian director. The film's lead actor Jared Abrahamson won best actor while Kurt Max Runte was named best supporting actor.

CANADA’S TOP TEN FILM FESTIVAL

The best of 2016 in Canadian features, shorts, and student shorts. The year’s best Canadian films are in the spotlight in The Cinematheque’s annual presentation of the Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival.
Acclaimed artists representing 11 countries will descend on the city for the
signature, three-week mid-winter event. From staggering spectacles to intimately immersive encounters, the 2017 PuSh Festival lineup showcases innovative, transformative art across a vast expanse of performance disciplines.
The Film and Media Showcase provides filmmakers with an opportunity to share their work with other artists and the public, across genres and in a variety of lengths, in a space dedicated to discovery,
discussion and inspiration. Each screening will be followed by a question and answer session with creators, with informal conversation and networking afterwards.
Stories illustrate our universally shared experiences. The Cold Reading Series (CRS) is committed to supporting and
developing the talents of Vancouver’s story tellers – writers, actors, and musicians alike – by providing a forum where they can present their craft to a live audience and get instant feedback.
