Last year was a record
shattering year for Surrey's film industry as the city issued 170 film permits, a marked increase from the then-record 97 it handed out in 2015. "It's been a remarkable year," said Surrey film liaison James Monk. "Talking with my counterparts, I knew it would be a busy year but not as busy as this."

FULFILLING YOUNG ARTISTS MENTORSHIP PROGRAM Deadline to apply is January 16, 2017
Fulfilling Young Artists is accepting applications for the 2017 session of our mentorship
program. Our goal is to help focus young actors' careers on fulfillment rather than employment. Male and female actors (ages 18 to 25) of all backgrounds and orientations are encouraged to apply. The six-month program is free to participants (a 25$ application fee is required). Mentees will be paired with experienced professional actors and will receive one-on-one mentorship, will attend monthly discussion forums and will create an original performance piece or film. The Film and Media Showcase provides filmmakers with an opportunity to share their work with other artists and the public, across genres and in a variety of lengths, in a
space dedicated to discovery, discussion and inspiration. Each screening will be followed by a question and answer session with creators, with informal conversation and networking afterwards.
