WHY VIDEO GAME VOICE ACTORS ARE ON STRIKE
Long sessions that shred a performer's vocal cords and no promise of residual payments — even for working on games that sell millions of copies.  Because of this, voice actors who are part of the SAG-AFTRA union in the U.S. are currently striking against 11 of the largest gaming publishers in the industry.

'ARRIVAL' DIRECTOR DENIS VILLENEUVE IS BECOMING A CANADIAN TREASURE
Villeneuve has been compared to Christopher Nolan or even fellow Canadian director David Cronenberg. He is an example that Canadian artists can make but only if they stay true to who they are.

TV IS BECOMING AT ATM FOR TOP TALENT
The so-called Golden Age of Television is living up to its name for many top talents.  With more than 50 outlets now producing scripted original programming (and competing for available stars and producers), the price tag for Hollywood's upper echelon has skyrocketed beyond what longtime TV insiders have ever seen.

OFF-BROADWAY AVOIDS STRIKE WITH A 5-YEAR CONTRACT AGREEMENT
The agreement between Actors' Equity Association, which represents actors and stage managers, and the League of Off-Broadway Theatres and Producers came after six months of negotiations, which resulted in a salary bump that was described as "historic and groundbreaking," but no details were revealed.

AN ACTOR’S GUIDE TO SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS
While friends and family may sometimes intentionally, or unwittingly deflate your sense of achievement, every little milestone in this industry is seriously awesome and should be celebrated.

WHAT YOUR AGENT DOES AND DOESN’T KNOW
While it’s true that some people are born with inherent talent, craft and technique can only be developed over an extended period of time under the guidance of several instructors with different approaches. And when you’re just starting out, your résumé is a blank piece of paper, so training with the right teacher sends a message that you’re serious about your career.
