An estimated 30 artists, musicians and other tenants are being evicted from a warehouse on the Downtown
Eastside. Many are scrambling to meet Wednesday’s deadline to remove all their art supplies and equipment and vacate 339 Railway.
CANADIAN SCREENWRITERS SEE RED AFTER RECENT CRTC FUNDING RULE CHANGES
Canadian screenwriters would really like to do a
thorough re-write of a recent Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission decision that changes how Canadian a television show needs to be in order to be called “Canadian” and receive public funding.
The project is called Hollywood North, and the VPL is currently looking for public submissions of photos and stories from sets, encounters with stars on the street and special effects in action.
RUSSIAN DIRECTOR DENIED CANADIAN VISA TO ATTEND TORONTO PREMIERE OF HIS MOVIE
Russian director Alexei Mizgirev, whose movie Duelyant (Duelist) is to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, has been denied a Canadian visa and is likely to miss the premiere.

SUMMER FILM+TV ACTING INTENSIVES FOR KIDS+TEENS Summer Intensives are a chance for students to see the kind of progress

The Celluloid Social Club (CSC) is a monthly, independent short film screening and networking event held at the ANZA Club in Vancouver, BC, running since November 1997. Each film is followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers with a networking party after the screenings.
