In 2006, independent film director William Vince started offering digital filmmaking workshops for six street kids at a time. The only qualifications they needed were a willingness to learn. His sister Lyn Vince, who had produced all 37 of his films, took up the cause and has created a non-profit called
Intersections Media Opportunities for Youth Society. The program has an extraordinary success rate. Of the 64 kids who go through the program each year, 85 per cent have jobs to go to when they finish.
COMOX VALLEY DIRECTOR GOING TO CANNES FILM FESTIVAL
It is regarded as the "Super Bowl" of film festivals - the one every person in the movie industry targets as a
goal. At 32 years old, Darcy Turenne is right on target.
Paul Bronfman, chairman and CEO of William F. White International, said on Tuesday that the only way the film industry would swallow B.C.’s reduced tax credit — the new rate is
28%, down from 33% — is if the dollar exchange rate remains at 80 cents American or lower.
An essential part of the “business” of show is networking. Whether it’s a high-profile premiere or impromptu party, mixing it up with industry players
can definitely enhance your chance to advance. But for an aspiring actor, navigating a room can be a treacherous trek. How do you shine without crossing the line between endearing and desperate? Here are 10 things you should know before you go.
Think of your character as actually
having a soul just like you. Just imagine that your character is flesh and blood with an actual soul. Your character is a human being just like you. And just like you, your character is superficial without a depth of soul.
HOW TO HANDLE PARENTS WHO DON’T SUPPORT YOUR CAREER

They could warm up to your choice as years pass and you continue to display your dedication, but they may never be absolutely in love with your chosen life path. This is totally OK. There are some things that you can do, however, to make it easier to relate to your parents—and to give yourself a peace of mind—as you pursue your dream.
