B.C. FILM INDUSTRY STABILIZES
While it wasn’t that long ago that the #SaveBCFilm tagline could be seen on billboards, bumper stickers, and posters across Metro Vancouver, the last few years have proved to be a comeback for the local film industry.

TWO B.C.ERS NOMINATED FOR OSCARS IN SPECIAL EFFECTS
An Oscar statuette may be coming to B.C. next month. Two local residents have been nominated for Academy Awards, both in the visual effects category.

P.K. SUBBAN BLACKFACE PORTRAYAL DENOUNCED BY MONTREAL ARTISTS
A group of Montreal artists has signed an open letter criticizing the use of blackface in theatre following the recent portrayal of P.K. Subban in a local production. Last month, a white actor in the Théâtre du Rideau Vert’s annual year-end production had his face painted black to portray the famous Canadiens defenceman.
