CANADIAN MATT CRAVEN HEADING UP ABC'S 'RESURRECTED'
While there will be an auditorium full of home grown talent, a similar awards show could be held in Hollywood featuring the many ex-patriots who have made a living Stateside. One such actor is Matt Craven, who co-stars in the new ABC drama "Resurrection."

CALIFORNIA SEES HUGE DROP IN FILM PRODUCTION, RANKS BEHIND LOUISIANA
How dramatic is the drop? If you exclude animated features, California's share of the top 25 live-action films declined from 64 percent in 1997 to just 8 percent in 2013. Of 26 live-action movies with budgets over $100 million, only two were made primarily in California - The Hangover Part III and Star Trek Into Darkness.

FILM INDUSTRY SAYS IT DOESN'T NEED ROB FORD'S LOS ANGELES PROMOTION
Mayor Rob Ford says his jaunt down to Los Angeles was to promote the city's film industry, but people in the movie business say appearing on late-night TV talk shows does little to bring the Hollywood dollars north.

VANCOUVER REBOOTS INTO VIDEO GAME DEVELOPER CENTRAL
Over the past few years, at least a half-dozen of Japan's largest video game companies have flocked to Vancouver. The companies are drawn to the talent spun out of Vancouver's "Hollywood North" digital media industry, and with Vancouver in the same Pacific time zone, is only a short flight from Tokyo - making it an ideal, additional beachhead in North America.

HOW DO ACTORS ACT?
How do they do it? How do (good) actors get us, the audience, to suspend belief - even recognition - of the person behind the actor's mask so we can enter the different reality they have created?

THE ONE THING YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO AFTER AUDITIONS
Just the other day, I asked a client if she had ever auditioned for a certain casting director. Her response was, "I'm not sure. I don't think so. But it's possible." All right, gang. The madness stops now. Here's what I want you to do. I want you to start keeping an Audition Diary.

FILM INDUSTRY CONDEMNED FOR TURNING GRIZZLY STORY INTO THRILLER
The death of Elisa Lam is to be made into a supernatural thriller called The Bringing, sparking outrage and disgust among critics of the project. Lam, a 21 year old UBC student, mysteriously disappeared from the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles in February last year only to turn up in the water tank on the roof weeks later.
