The new cop series being filmed in Vancouver is set in an unnamed U.S. city in 2048, but uses exterior shots of present-day Vancouver - enhanced with computer-generated imagery - as the basis for its ultramodern metropolis of the future. And new transit lines are everywhere.

VANCOUVER'S HISTORIC HOLLYWOOD THEATRE VS. CULTURAL TAXIDERMY
The current plan is to turn the Hollywood Theatre into a two-story fitness centre. There has been some discussion about protecting some of the exterior while gutting out the interior.

TV SERIES 'WHEN CALLS THE HEART' SET IN FICTIONAL FRONTIER TOWN 'COAL VALLEY' BUILT IN B.C.
"When Calls the Heart," which will premiere late winter/early spring on Super Channel and in January on Hallmark in the U.S., is the latest indication that after a decade of dark dramas such as "Breaking Bad," "Sons of Anarchy" and "Dexter," viewers are ready to embrace programming that is more heartwarming than harrowing.
