INDUSTRY NEWS
LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! NORTH SHORE FILMMAKERS CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC
The first half of 2013 is labelled as the worst in B.C. film industry history. Thousands of people were out of jobs, including many of the 5,000 trade professionals living on the North Shore. But the industry is picking up, including in North Van where 50 Shades of Grey is rumoured on several blogs to film at North Shore Studios in mid-November.

BARUCHEL: CANUCK FILMS SHOT IN CANADA STARRING CANADIANS SHOULD BE SET IN CANADA
His new hybrid heist flick "The Art of the Steal" is a cross-border caper set against the inimitable backdrop of Niagara Falls, Ont. And really, it's set there - not Niagara Falls dressed to look like some generically tourist-friendly town someplace vaguely in the U.S. - and on the Canadian side, no less. It's an important point to the 31-year-old Montreal native.
