UWE BOLL'S "THE BAILOUT" TO SHOOT IN VANCOUVER
German director Uwe Boll is set to start shooting The Bailout, a thriller about the human toll of the 2008-09 global financial meltdown, in Vancouver in April. There's no word on casting, but the film will be produced by Daniel Clarke and Shawn Williamson, and long-time Boll collaborator Mathais Neumann will serve as director of photography.

VANCOUVER THEATRE BATTLES 'MONEY GRAB' BY BC FILM REGULATORS
Vancouver theatre owner Leonard Schein has defied what he calls a "money grab" by B.C.'s film regulators, and went ahead with a Saturday morning charity screening of the 1959 French film The 400 Blows.

STARS FROM AROUND THE GLOBE UNITE TO SAY "IT'S TIME"
Audio-visual performers around the globe have united to create a video saying "It's Time" they are protected under international copyright law. Currently, only audio performers receive any significant protection at the international level, including modernized and updated standards in respect to digital uses of their work.

A straightlaced accountant who goes on a sexually explicit journey, a sci-fi flick about astronauts being attacked by a rubber duck, a romcom about the extremities of love, and a boy who may or may not be a vampire--these are the four film productions from B.C. that Telefilm has said yes to.
