LIONSGATE STOCK CONTINUES TO SOAR AMID 'HUNGER GAMES' BUZZ
Shares in Vancouver-based Lionsgate were trading late Tuesday afternoon on the New York Stock Exchange at $15.16, up 6.4 percent on the day and just shy of the all-time high of $15.22 posted earlier in the session.

NEW YORK & VANCOUVER PRODUCTION BOOMING, LOS ANGELES DECLINES
The TV comedy resurgence cannot come soon enough for the Los Angeles production community because Hollywood is fast losing ground on the drama side to New York and Vancouver. The biggest gainer this year is Vancouver, which shot up to second place with 9 pilots, doubling its tally of 4.5 last year.

VANCOUVER STUNTMAN GOES FROM X-MEN TO INDIE MUSICAL
In October 2009 I visited the Vancouver set of Hit N Strum, an indie musical drama written, directed by and starring veteran stuntman Kirk Caouette. As is frequently the way with indie film, it took a long time to get from principal photography to finished film, but now the movie is getting its debut at Toronto's Canadian Film Festival at the end of March.
