VISION VANCOUVER AND NPA RELEASE ARTS PLATFORMS
Days after Vision Vancouver released its arts platform, the NPA has issued its own. On Monday (October 31), NPA mayoral hopeful Suzanne Anton announced she would give the Vancouver Art Gallery free rein over the entire block of land at 688 Cambie Street for a new gallery.

CANADIAN DRAMA 'SAVING HOPE' SEEKS US PARTNER
American fans of Smallville's Erica Durance and Michael Shanks could yet see their new Canadian medical drama Saving Hope on US TV sets after Entertainment One jumped on board as the international distributor. A US broadcast slot is now a top priority for the Canadian series.

NEW BRUNSWICK AXED TAX CREDIT HAS FILM INDUSTRY NERVOUS
This may be the last big year for the Silver Wave Film Festival in Fredericton because the provincial government has cancelled the New Brunswick film tax credit. Industry veteran, Doug Sutherland, who is both assistant director and co-producer of the opening feature Letha Acidents, said the killed tax credit is troubling.

VIFF ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is very pleased to announce the addition of an important senior staff team member. Jacqueline Dupuis has been appointed Executive Director and joins Alan Franey, the Festival Director & CEO, responsible for managing an annual operating budget of approximately $3.5 million. The Executive Director reports directly to the Festival Director & CEO.
