Yeoh and James Hong star in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” a sci-fi comedy in which her character travels through the multiverse. THINGS ACTORS SHOULDN’T BE AFRAID TO ASK
The way the industry works often leaves actors feeling disposable, and understandably so. For so long, actors have been trained to agree first and ask questions later, if ever. This can lead to situations that are uncomfortable, unsafe or even abusive. https://www.castingnetworks.com/news/things-actors-shouldnt-be-afraid-to-ask/
HOW TO DEAL WITH AN AUDITION REJECTION
“No.” It’s a word actors hear all too often, but that doesn’t mean being on the receiving end of it is any easier. Audition rejection can sting, but the most successful actors are the ones who bounce back from it. Read on for invaluable insight from industry professionals and notable actors on how to identify rejection, face it, and move on. https://www.backstage.com/magazine/article/how-to-deal-with-an-audition-rejection-74999/
UPCOMING TRAINING
CASTING DIRECTOR WORKSHOP WITH KRIZ WOZ
May 14 (9am-5pm) and May 15 (10am-3pm)
Online via Zoom
Self Tapes, Zoom auditions and the occasional in-person callback are the new norm. One of the best ways to build an in person relationship with casting is to do casting director workshops where they can see your work live, see how you take re-directs, and get a sense of who you are as a person. It’s harder for casting to trust someone just from a self tape. Casting director workshops gives the actor an edge in The New Casting Environment that is even more competitive than before. https://actorvanstudios.com/product/the-casting-director-workshop-with-kris-from-kk-casting-may-2022/
